Meet MOCA, an instrumental jazz ensemble formed by four professional musicians united by a shared passion for creative jazz expression. The group took shape in Amsterdam, where members Marios Menelaou, Odysseas Toumazou, Christos Yerolatsitis (all from Cyprus), and Aron Nyiro (from Hungary) studied and collaborated closely, developing a sound that blends technical mastery with heartfelt musical storytelling.
MOCA’s music reflects an authentic fusion of diverse cultural backgrounds and influences, combining elements from modern jazz, world music, and improvisation. Their performances are marked by finely balanced interplay, dynamic energy, and a distinctive freshness that resonates with audiences across the globe.
Following a successful tour in Cyprus in 2023, including performances at the Paradise Jazz Festival, MOCA continued their international outreach with a three-week tour across India in 2024, where they performed and conducted educational workshops. In June 2025, the band released their debut album, MOCA Vol. 1, showcasing original compositions from all four members that capture their evolving collective sound. Later that year, they returned to India for another tour and were featured at the Rialto Jazz Showcase, further solidifying their reputation as an established voice in international contemporary jazz.
MOCA’s concerts in Thailand are part of the Cultural Programme of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union for the year 2026. The band is about to record its 2nd album and is scheduled to perform in the upcoming edition of Krakow Jazz Festival, Poland, in July 2026!
